United Way - Focus...
This was a really special project for me. My mother works in the low income sector within elementary schools. Back home in San Diego, the wealth gap is massive (as it is in most places). It’s really extreme in South and North County San Diego though, which is extremely, extremely sad.
I worked on this piece for United Way to illustrate the importance of breakfast before school. It was really wonderful to make something so simple for them. You cannot concentrate when you don’t eat, period. Looking at the work my mother does, digging into her own pockets to make sure these children are fed everyday. United Way is stepping in to help that and it was great to be apart of their story.
We shot this all on one vintage Zeiss Super Speed lens from the 1970’s on a Fisher Dolly. Simple story, simple shoot, but important story.
